Why Write?

Writing and writing for publication is a creative endeavour that helps the allied health professions progress and professional colleagues learn new skills and techniques which contribute to the enrichment of health and wellbeing. But where do we find the time to write?

Writing may be a defined part of an allied health professional’s role, whether they are an academic or a practitioner, but professional and domestic schedules can easily mean that our time for writing is too often shunted into the sidings.

Write Away can help you by providing safe, inclusive space dedicated to giving both academic and practitioner the support they need to write for publication.

Why a Writing Retreat?

Facilitated by a leading allied health professional each writing retreat follows a well know process of facilitation whereby attendees will experience the following benefits:

  • Increased productivity – you’ll get the writing done that you want to get done
  • Improved writing quality – quality output is critical to satisfying the readers of your work and gaining their continued loyalty
  • Improve writing confidence – the more you write and the more you improve your quality the more confidence you will have to write again and again.
  • Constructive conversations – with other participants and the facilitator you will have the opportunity to learn from other occupational therapists who are also writing for publication
  • Reduced stress – you’ll be getting the writing done that you’ve been meaning to do for some time which should contribute to a feeling of well being at being that completer-finisher
